Turn Your Vision for a Better Campus into Reality
Great ideas shouldn't be limited by a lack of funding. The Sustainable Empowerment and Equitable Development (SEED) Fund is here to empower student-led change on campus. Sustainability isn't just about the environment; it’s about removing barriers, ensuring equitable access to resources, and strengthening our campus community. Whether your idea tackles food security, accessible infrastructure, or a project to improve student well-being, the SEED Fund offers up to $10,000 to bring your vision to life.
Here’s how it works:
- Apply: Applications are open throughout the Fall and Winter semesters.
- Refine: If your project advances, the SEED Fund Committee will work with you to sharpen your vision and ensure feasibility.
- Launch: Receive funding and feedback directly from the Committee to get your approved project off the ground.
About the SEED Fund
The SEED Fund was formerly known as the Sustainability & Capital Fund Green Fund, part of the UASU’s Sustainability & Capital Fund (SCF), which passed via referendum in March 2020. Since its inception, this Fund has empowered several sustainable student-led initiatives on campus including:
Starting from a SUB-based pilot program, DishZero offers reusable takeout containers and mugs to reduce the single-use waste associated with takeout dining on campus by providing a dish-sharing system that is as convenient to use as its disposable counterpart.
The mobile aquaponics system is a project aiming to bring aquaponics to students to introduce the club and some of the other permaculture projects they do.
“Green Flow Project”: Green Flow aims to provide free, reusable menstrual products to all who need them to help eliminate any financial barriers that students or staff may face in accessing these products. Club Periodically offers a variety of environmentally-friendly menstrual products during bimonthly Distribution Events, including menstrual cups, period underwear, and reusable pads.
