Getting involved in your campus community can be as easy as picking up your phone. With UASU Perks, you can earn points for attending our events through the year, exploring campus, taking quizzes, or sharing your concerns and opinions in surveys. Then you can redeem those points for cool prizes like UASU swag, free Daily Grind coffee, gift cards, laptops, gaming consoles, and more. We gave out over 5500 prizes last year to students who got involved on campus through Perks!
The survey results we get from students through UASU Perks can have a huge impact on our advocacy efforts. For example, in 2023, over 1000 students answered our Perks survey about cost of living, food insecurity, and household budgets. We compared their responses to the Edmonton poverty line data, and helped the University recalibrate its 'Moderate Standard of Living' threshold, leading to an extra $1 million in needs-based student grants.
