This is your student government

These are the ways you can represent.

Become a Student Representative

Being a student representative is a unique and rewarding university experience. Being involved in University Governance in various capacities enables you to create change on campus that will affect you, your fellow students, and staff in influential and meaningful ways.

Below are the various positions which can be held by undergraduate students.

Student-At-Large Committee Members

Student-at-large positions enable students to get involved with the highest decision making body within the Students’ Union without having to hold an elected position. See which opportunities are available or email us for more information.

Students' Council Undergraduate Representative

Students' Council is the ultimate authority in the Students' Union. Undergraduate representatives advocate for students and help make positive change for their elected faculties.

General Faculties Council Undergraduate Representative

The General Faculties Council (GFC) is one of the main governing bodies of the University. Being a student in this body provides undergraduates with the ability to voice their concern about major issues affecting the University.

Senate Undergraduate Representative

The Senate is an independent body of diverse community leaders and University representatives, which is valued for the role it places in successfully examining, fostering, and celebrating the achievements and excellence of the University of Alberta, resulting in an enhanced relationship with the community.

Student Representative Associations Positions

Student Representative Associations (SRAs) are key student servants and representatives. They are a group of elected student volunteers who advocate on behalf of the students they represent, provide services, plan events and make sure that the students they represent have the best experience possible. There are various positions in each SRA that provide opportunities for students to get involved and help them achieve student interests and goals.
