Volunteer with Week of Welcome 2025
Be a Site & Administration Volunteer!
Want to help bring Week of Welcome and New Student Orientation to life from the ground up? Site and Administration Volunteers (SAVs) are the hands and heartbeats of our events!
Responsibilities of the Site and Administration Volunteers include but are not limited to:
- Setup Week and New Student Orientation (August 25-31): Site Crew helps put up fencing, assembling student nametags, and setting up hydration stations. The Admin Crew trains for the customer service side of things and works in the Registration tent to enable new students to easily check in.
- Week of Welcome Teardown: Crews are only required for takedown shifts on September 6th and 7th for teardown once the event is over.
Approximate time commitment = 20 hours (August - September)
Week of Welcome
Every year, UASUevents puts on Week of Welcome to create an exciting atmosphere and bring the community together to start off the year. WOW is a jam-packed event with something for everyone - we have live outdoor music in quad, free pancakes, ticketed evening events, Clubs Fair, games, prizes, and so much more.

Campus Kickoff
Campus Kickoff is a special event to celebrate student life on campus. This jam-packed U of A's Main Quad program includes music, games, and giveaways. Witness performances that will boost your excitement to be part of the UofA community!
Be a part of Presidents' Address, where university and community leaders welcome you to campus to kick off a fantastic year to come! Hear from prominent university figures, including the President of the U of A, and the President of the U of A Students' Union. Stay to the end for your chance to win $1000 towards your tuition!
Take advantage of one of the year's most significant school spirit events! Wear your best green & gold, bring your friends, and celebrate the start of a promising and exciting school year.
Week of Welcome Events
Every year, UASUevents puts on Week of Welcome to create an exciting atmosphere and bring the community together to start off the year. WOW is a jam-packed event with something for everyone.
Students can expect live music at the MainStage, a Clubs Fair and games at WOW Village, a free pancake breakfast every morning, and a wide range of evening events such as Comedy, Hypnotist, more! Check back in August 2025 to see what we have in store.
