Recognizing students who make outstanding contributions to the campus community.
University of Alberta Student's Union Awards
The Students' Union Awards strive to recognize outstanding leadership and involvement of University of Alberta undergraduate students in the community. Student leaders have a tremendous impact on campus and beyond and we hope to encourage students to continue contributing to their communities through this awards program.
Achievement isn’t one-size-fits-all, which is why we recognize students, professors, and student groups for involvement in a variety of interests on and off campus. Ranging from social justice and activism, leadership in sports, involvement in the arts, and perseverance in moments of hardship, our awards are reflective of students’ lives and interests.
UASU Involvement, Centenary, and Student Group Awards are managed by students, for students. Our student adjudicators understand and recognize the struggles and achievements of their peers. Over half of the UASU Awards are reserved for students in financial need, and adjudicators are trained to understand the financial, social, and academic barriers that often inhibit students from becoming involved. The UASU Awards Program is about providing a space where the incredible achievements of our community are celebrated.
Do you know an individual deserving of recognition? Have you contributed to campus in ways big and small? Check out our Award listing for more information!

Application is now open for Award Adjudicators until June 7th 2022!
The Awards Adjudication Committee selects the recipients of the Students' Union Awards (UASU Awards). It allows students to recognize and reward the outstanding achievements of their peers through the disbursement of approximately $100,000 to deserving students each year.
Being on a committee looks great on a resume, gives you experience working and collaborating with others, and allows you to get to get to know your campus better. Upon successful completion of adjudication, you will receive $200 honorarium. In order for you to be eligible, you must be enrolled as undergraduate students at the University of Alberta. Selected members of the committee cannot have applied to the Awards program, nominated another student or professor, or written reference letters for any of the applicants for the current cycle.
All members of the committee must abide by the rules and regulations set by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). The information discussed and reviewed is strictly confidential and cannot be shared outside of the Adjudication meeting times.
