Our goal at LD Edmonton is to provide a safe environment for individuals with LD and/or ADHD to learn how to better interpret and more effectively manoeuvre social interactions. In doing so, we endeavour to promote increased self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and confidence. Through our programs, we hope to help children and youth also build a support network and make friends who understand the challenges they face as well as the strengths they share
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
1) Vice-President:
- All duties of a Director-At-Large and
- presides at meetings in the President's absence.
- replaces the President at various functions when asked to do so by the President or the Board;
- carries out other duties assigned by the Board.
- Provides support to the President as needed
- Attendance and support of the Provincial LDAA
2) Treasurer:
- All duties of a Director-At-Large and
- all monies paid to the Association are deposited in a chartered bank, treasury branch or trust company chosen by the Board;
- a detailed account of revenues and expenditures is presented to the Board as requested; and,
- A financial statement of the financial position of the Association is prepared and presented to the Annual General Meeting.
- The Treasurer also carries out other duties assigned by the Board.
3) Directors-At-Large:
- Promoting the objects of the Association;
- Promoting membership in the Association;
- Hiring employees, to operate the Association;
- Regulating employees' duties and setting their salaries;
- Approving an annual budget for the Association;
- Making policies for managing and operating the Association;
- Approving all contracts for the Association;
- Making policies, rules and regulations for operating the Association and using its facilities and assets;
