Are you interested in healthcare or the field of Recreation Therapy? Working with adults with dementia or mental health diagnoses? Our team at Villa Marguerite Community Supports are looking for new volunteers to assist within the Recreation Therapy departments! Villa Marguerite has two dementia units and one mental health main building.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Assist Therapy staff with facilitating programs (e.g. Bingo, crafts, music, exercise)
Assist Therapy staff with special events (e.g. birthdays, entertainment)
Engage in 1:1 visits with residents
Portering residents to and from programs

Volunteer Requirements:
All volunteers must be screened for the safety of our residents and staff. To become a volunteer, you must:
1. Fill out a volunteer application form
2. Interview with Recreation Therapist/Volunteer Coordinator
3. Complete a Vulnerable Sectors Check
4. Full COVID-19 vaccinations with immunization record

Our team at Sprucewood Place Housing Community is looking for new volunteers to assist within the Recreation Therapy departments! Sprucewood Place offers housing to adults and older adults with psychiatric illness, as well as some with brain injury, general physical disability and cognitive impairment. We are a predominantly mental health-focused facility.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Assist Therapy staff with facilitating programs (e.g. Bingo, crafts, music, exercise)
Assist Therapy staff with special events (e.g. birthdays, entertainment)
Engage in 1:1 visits with residents
Portering residents to and from programs
Help facilitate an on-site Tuck Shop (selling food, toiletries etc)
