Description:
The sky is the limit when you share Astronomical information. Share your passion for astronomy and showcase the skies above as an Assistant Observatory Attendant. Our knowledgeable Observatory Attendants supervise the set-up and use of telescopes during public observing sessions, and share relevant information to lead our guests on an astronomical adventure.
September - June - Weekend Shifts (Saturday, Sunday & Holidays): 12:45 - 4:00pm OR 6:45pm - 10:00pm.
Friday Shifts: 6:45pm - 10:00pm.
July - August - Daily Shifts, (Mon - Sun):1:00pm - 4:45pm.
Evening Shifts,(Sun - Thurs)6:45pm - 10:15pm OR Evening Shifts, (Fri & Sat) 7:45pm -12:15am. Observatory shifts can be scheduled on the same day each week throughout the summer , OR the equivalent number of hours (minimum 40) can be completed over a compressed 2 to 3 week period, with daily shifts 4-6 hours in length scheduled each week.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of astronomy and the constellations is required, as well as prior telescope experience and strong communication skills.
Volunteers are requested to commit to a 3-5 hour shift per week for a total of 40 hours over a 3 month period.

On site training is provided.
