Students' Council (1 seat available)
Hi! My name is Nathan and I’m a 2nd year pharmacy student. Over the past year, I have had the honour of serving on Students’ Council, where I worked hard to represent the interests of all pharmacy students. During my tenure, I helped draft student-focused political policies while serving on Policy Committee to support financially burdened individuals, while also adjudicating applications for student leadership positions on Nominating Committee. I also fought to elevate concerns from pharmacy students regarding UPass elimination and petitioned for the protection of our Faculty’s Student Services during academic restructuring negotiations. If re-elected to Council, I will continue to fight for the needs of all students by focusing on expanding student involvement opportunities and EDI initiatives. I will also liaise with both the Faculty and the Alberta Pharmacy Students’ Association to fight for important pharmacy-specific issues at the level of student governance, such as banning e-proctoring, strengthening accessibility to wellness resources and subsidizing placements. I will also collaborate with fellow councillors to support a university mandate which guarantees that all students on their placements and practica are safely protected from COVID-19. On March 17th and 18th, be sure to cast your vote to re-elect Nathan for SU Pharmacy Councillor!
