Peer Support Centre: We're here to listen.
The Peer Support Centre offers supportive listening sessions that last roughly 1 hour at the centre, located in SUB 2-707, over the phone (780-492-4357), or by appointment.
What to expect:
Upon arriving at one of our locations, you will be greeted by a student volunteer. The volunteer will greet you and ask if you’d like to talk to someone. You will then be led to one of our confidential client rooms. There, the volunteer can listen to your concerns and discuss how they have been affecting you. Volunteers can help with any sort of concern, ranging from exam stress, information on abuse or family violence, or suicide concerns. The volunteer will provide various exercises to help you uncover some steps you can use to improve your situation. They can also provide you with additional campus and community resources to give you an idea of where to go after you leave the Centre.
If we are unavailable, please call the Edmonton Distress Line (780-482-4357) to talk to someone right away, 24 hours a day. You can also check out our list of resources list for additional support.
